Sports offered at Highbury
A number of sports and activities are offered at Highbury. Boys are expected to play the sport of the season although an alternative is offered for U12 and U13 boys. It is compulsory to participate in some aspect of the termly sports programme.
Summer/Winter Sports Programme
Foundation Phase - Grade R, Grade 1 and 2
- Term 1 - Swimming and Mini-Cricket
- Term 2 - Soccer and Cross Country
- Term 3 - Hockey and Athletics
- Term 4 - Swimming, Mini-Cricket, Hardball Cricket (Grade 2 only)
Foundation Phase - Grade 3
- Term 1 - Cricket, Swimming, Tennis, Chess, Cycling, Waterpolo and Squash
- Term 2 - Soccer, Rugby and Cross Country
- Term 3 - Hockey and Athletics
- Term 4 - Swimming, Mini Cricket and Hardball Cricket (Grade 2 only)
Senior Primary
- Term 1 - Swimming, Cricket, Tennis, Chess, Cycling, Waterpolo and Squash
- Term 2 - Rugby, Cross-Country, Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Soccer and Squash
- Term 3 - Hockey, Athletics, Basketball, Tennis, Chess and Squash
- Term 4 - Cricket, Tennis, Waterpolo, Chess, Cycling, Squash and Golf
Cycling club takes place on Friday afternoons.

Sports Houses
Highbury has a House system where all boys and staff are divided into four houses competing at sport, merit, general knowledge, quizzes etc. Houses are Acutt's (Yellow); Duff's (Red); Escombe's (Green); and Robinson's (Blue). Grade 1-7 Boys attend House Chapel each Tuesday in their respective Houses.
